READ THIS POST BEFORE RUNNING A TOURNAMENT!

Welcome to the Sylphy Tournament Forum!!

In order to be able to host a tournament on the Sylphy forums, you must follow these rules or the thread will be CLOSED.

  • Submit the idea to a Tournament Director of the forums in PM with everything you want the tournament to be like(Special Rules, Name, Tier, Ect.), recommend that the application is in the form of what you want the sign up thread to look like.
  • Once the application is sent, the Tournament Director will look at your application and make sure everything is in order, then send you a message telling you if your able to host or if what you need to change before hosting.
  • If your tournament is denied, please do not post it anyway, doing so WILL lead to infraction and then you will not be able to host a tournament on this forum.

All tournaments will be recorded in the Tournament Listing Thread.

Rules When Hosting a Tournament:

  • You must add a deadline for each round, max you can do is 2 weeks.
  • If players need an extension then you may give it, but only a 5 day extension at most, any longer would have to be arranged by a Tournament Director
  • If 2 players fail to get their matches done, the most active player gets it, or a coinflip.
  • Matches MUST be random! I recommend this bracket maker.
  • Please try to get the next round thread up as soon as possible, so the tournament can keep moving. If you fail to do this then we will hand the host to another user/Tournament Director
  • You must include these standard clauses in your tournament:
Species Clause: A player cannot have two of the same pokémon on their team. For example, a player cannot have two Koffing on his or her team.
Sleep Clause: A player cannot put two or more different opposing Pokémon to sleep using attacks that induce sleep to opposing pokémon.
Evasion Clause: A player cannot increase their Pokémon's evasion stat with a move that specifically increases evasion. Items or indirect boosts do not break this clause.
OHKO Clause: Players cannot use Horn Drill, Guillotine, Sheer Cold, or Fissure in any of their Pokémon's movesets.
Battle Timeout: If a player exhausts the timer, he/she loses.

Playing in a Tournament

  • When you play in a tournament, read the rules carefully, this helps cause less confusion.
  • Please try to get your matches done, or you will be called a JOHN!
  • When you play, its recommended to save log in case a player tries to say he/she won when losing.
  • If you are caught cheating or lying about a win, you will be BANNED from all future tournaments!
